Normal weekend.

As I sit here composing this entry, I’m racking my brain trying to come up with a clever way disguise the fact that my weekend was not interesting in any way shape, or form. Ohh, she thinks, tell them a space alien landed in the back yard. They came in and stole all my peanut butter. (It was recommended by the local yahoos) Ok, no. The truth of the matter is I went through my typical weekend routine, chores on Saturday, church and scrapbooking on Sunday, no space aliens. Just people chuckling about the unfortunate peanut butter incident. Thanks for asking.
I picked up a book at the library called The Encyclopedia of an Ordinary life. Don’t remember who wrote it, but I read about it on someone else’s blog. It’s the kind of book us scrapbookers enjoy. It’s full of ordinary stories about her life (all alphabetized, hence the title) complete with illustrations. Totally cracks me up. In a spurt of inspiration last night I get this great idea, “Hey! I could make my own encyclopedia for our family, complete with pictures, and patterned paper, like it’s own little scrapbook. The inspiration genius taunts – oh come on, you know you wanna tackle another huge project. A cruel joke if you ask me. So on the to-do shelf it goes. I’ll get to it in about 20 years.
What else. Oh yes. I had a big fat dork moment this weekend; I can’t believe I’m about to share it. I always get a chuckle at reading other peoples TV obsession stories. Believing, in part, that I am too good to get obsessed, especially about a television show. (You can see where this one is going) American Idol. Chris Daughtry. “Wanted – Dead or Alive”. That’s all I’m saying. If you saw it, you know what I’m talking about. If you missed it, well… sucks to be you. (that’s such a high school phrase, I can’t believe I just used it) So here comes the dork part of my story. I’ve never been a huge Bon Jovi fan, aside from the fact that we share the same birthday (which incidentally is on Thursday, don’t forget) but after this kid sang this song, I’m all of a sudden a huge fan of Bon Jovi. I can’t get this song out of my head. You bet your buttons I added it to my playlist.
Cause I’m a cow-boy, on a steel horse I ride
Dork.
